You would think so.

You just see the sarcophagi. They're carved and relatively well made. Each one looks to be different.

There is no other door in this room, however. No vents or grates or anything of the sort.

¬ Examine each sarcophagus.

They look to each be displaying the person interned inside. There look to be a wide range of them--old, young, every major ethnicity. The one thing each one has in common is, they're well made, and each and every one has at least one quail engraved on it somewhere.

Look around and see if there's any indication to who is in each of the sarcophagi. Any identification at all?

A writer’s brain is full of little gifts, like a piñata at a birthday party. It’s also full of demons, like a piñata at a birthday party in a mental hospital. The truth is, it’s demons that keep a tortured writer’s spirit alive, not Tootsie Rolls. Sure they’ll give you a tiny burst of energy, but they won’t do squat for your writing. So treat your demons with the respect they deserve, and with enough prescriptions to keep you wearing pants.

Besides an engraving of the person? None at all.

Unless the number of quails is somehow significant.

Just at random, or will you pick one based on some criteria?

Um... choose someone that would least be likely to overpower you if they happen to still be alive for some reason.

You're pretty sure this is a dream, at this point, anyway.

You go to one of the sarcophagi for children and slowly shove it open.

There's a mummified corpse in the bottom of it. No sign of anyone living. Nothing besides a--

Your head is suddenly pounding. You let out a cry as you fall backwards. Your bottom hits the stone floor with a hard thump.

Gah, it feels like something's trying to force its way out.

grab our head to make sure nothing is actually coming out and step away from the open sarcophagus.

You grab your head and back away. The feeling recedes the farther you get from the sarcophagus.

Okay. Probably best you don't do that again.

Or, at least, have a better idea of which one to open.

look carefully at each of the depictions on the sarcophagi
