A young man, Jason Moore, was sitting comfortably at his computer desk, listening to his favorite 90s band, Sunsetters. Jason, living in 2016, thought many of their styles were antique, yet lacking. He would often think to himself, what if we modernized this amazing band with a unique "Fear Rock" style, putting that concept into the 21st century? Naturally, he would receive much backlash from the Prog community, but he gave it a go with his friends, Dandy, Sally, Violet and Kit. Together, they would revamp an entire band to meet their visions, and no one could stop them. This is Sunsetters REDUX, a Dubstep / Drum and Bass remake of a classic that just can't die out.

Now that that introduction is out of the way, let's get to songs.

Railroad to Metropolis

I took my bags and I took my coat
My ticket for the ride
Gave it to the man with the sleazy tan
And then I stepped inside

I road all day on the train
Heard the wheels grind on the tracks
Clinking and clanking, the sound it was making
Couldn’t keep me relaxed

I felt my shadow creeping up
Felt its hands around my throat
Then it started strangling, my past was mangling
Until I couldn’t even choke

The train then stopped
The wheels didn’t grind
The doors were propped
And I just stepped outside

The city was an empty, dirty mess
With nobody in my sight
I walked the city bare, there was nobody there
Except the shadow, the shadow, the shadow right behind!

Burning Books

He has no eyes
He's full of lies

There was an old man
Who forgot he was dead
He had a couple of books
That he brought to his deathbed

He wrote his forgotten pasts
Starting from the first to the last

Hey, hey mister Blind Man
Your eyes are full of fear
Or at least where your eyes should be
Your end is drawing near

And I can't say I'm quite surprised
With all your little lies
That you write inside all your notebooks
Right before you die

The Ferryman is coming
And there's a tune he's humming
There's no more use for hiding
And there's no more use for running

The librarian died
And his relatives cried
But what they didn't know
Was that he had lied

We are the Judgement
We prey on human guilt
We purge away the darkness
And we purge away the filth

The family you had lied to
The stone-cold heart you hold
You're going to become like us
Like the man, tall as the cold

There is an old man
With nonexistent eyes
He holds one of his books
Because of one of his lies

Hey, hey mister Blind Man
Your eyes are full of fear
Or at least where your eyes should be
Your end is drawing near

And I can't say I'm quite surprised
With all your little lies
That you write in all your notebooks
Right before you die

He has no eyes
He's full of lies

The Tragedy of Walter Andrews

Walter Andrews never got a break
And he lived within a world he was born in much too late

His mind would start to crumble, he tried to kill his friends
But no one escapes the Tall Man, and no one has an end

He learned about the Tall Man, the monster in the suit
Poor Walter left this world as quiet as a mute

The Operator operates with death as his main goal
He takes away the best of men, he takes them young and old

Walter tried to silence all the voices in his head
By taking all the Tall Man’s victims, shooting them all dead

He learned about the Tall Man, the monster in the suit
Poor Walter left this world as quiet as a mute

But Walter never noticed the Operator’s hand
The grip on all his victims, the Operator’s plan

Walter bit off more than he could chew
He got his head shot, and away it blew
He drowned in the Clear Lakes and never knew
The Operator’s plan began anew

Perfection

Naughty or nice have you been my dear? You see, perfection only comes once a year
So stop keeping your lists, here’s a new one right here, I wonder if you’ll ever completely hear

Regretting how you treated her, suffering through your thoughts you stir
Loathing, trust me she does too, and she still talks about you
There’s a scar on her back from the kindness that you lack
She can’t open her eyes without hoping that she dies

Whatever messed up past you had with your brother and your dad
It’s no reason to act with such dysfunctional tact
On your flesh and your blood, she can’t wash off all the mud
From her nightmares and dreams, memories still make her scream

And she screams and she heaves, perfection never leaves
You asked for so much more, perfection or the door

(The number you have dialed has been changed. The new number is - [Ambiently trails off])

Rise of Her Rain

The Ichor is flowing down the drains
The Ichor is flowing through your veins

The Ichor is flowing down the drains
The Ichor is flowing through your veins

The Ichor is flowing down the drains
The Ichor is flowing through your veins

She's gonna take you and turn you into her slave
She's gonna take you so you better be brave

Feel her Ichor
Feel her Ichor

Feel her

Feel the rain
Feel the rain
Feel the rise of her rain

You will change
You will change
Feel the rise of her rain

Ichor

Feel the rain
Feel the rain
Feel the rise of her rain

You will change
You will change
Feel the rise of her rain

Feel her Ink

The Last Sunset

Life ends, inferno
Splashing surroundings.
Watch the sky
Turn red.
Trees darken, and voices join the sentient wind.
Apologize no more;
Don’t mourn the last sunset.
Cold figures laugh
At themselves–
The ultimate practical joke.
They see skies
Fading,
And their faces regret nothing at all tonight.
Still, they think once of the last sunset, bitter.

Water dies,
Unknowing.

With its last breath gone, the Earth becomes memory.

Reverie

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, welcome to the Grotesque Circus! Thank you very much for signing your liability wavers on these balloons! Time to let them fly! Be free!"

(Balloon sounds.)

"Hey, what are you doing?!"

"Oh, lighten up a bit, will ya? Well, without further ado, kids and parents alike, please welcome our special guests, the Sunsetters!"

We're gonna take you down
To place that's never been found
We're gonna take you to the oasis
Just be sure not to drown

We're gonna take you down
Down to a Path with black leaves scattered
We're gonna take you down
To a place where reality is shattered

The city of Metropolis
Sites that you won't wanna miss
Oh

We're gonna take you down
So you better be ready
We've got the mad fears
To rock your ears
It's a reverie

Gonna take you down, down
Gonna take you down, down, down
Gonna take you
Gonna take you
Gonna take you
Reverie

Gonna take you down, down
Gonna take you down, down, down
Gonna gonna gonna
Gonna gonna gonna
Gonna take you

Reverie
Your nightmares are coming true
Reverie
And you haven't got a clue

Reverie
The circus is calling you
Reverie
And their bodies, they twist askew

Reverie
Don't listen to the words they spew
Reverie
They just want to break through

Reverie
Reverie

(Guitar breaking sound.)

Thank you Grotesque Circu - oh. They've all left.

"Looks like we're all alone then, eh? No witnesses! Let's have some fun..."

Wait no, what are you doing?! That's - Ahhhhhhhh!
