This here thread is for (non-Fear) open source characters, whom anyone can use without first getting the creator's permission.

I'll start with the Archive Collectors and Archive Martyrs.

Collectors gather field data and recruit new members. They don't run experiments or analyze data, but instead they observe and, well, collect. Naming scheme designation is "Collector (insert Greek letter here)". A "Collector Delta" has already been briefly talked about on the Archive.

Martyrs have the job of protecting the Archive's assets. They are highly trained black-ops soldiers who are sent in to protect/save Collectors who are in danger, retrieve stolen data, etc. As the name suggests, each on is prepared to die while serving the Archive. "Martyr (insert Greek letter here)"

I can think of no reason why any other bloggers would need to include Analysts, Scribes, Keepers, or Inquisitors in their stories, so those Archive jobs will NOT be open source at the present time. Although, if your character happens to come across a VERY large sum of money and wants to see some classified data, talk to me about Brokers.

Forgot to put this here:

Andrew and Mr. Lappet from The Darkling Thrush can be used if you need a nest for the Convocation. Andrew will be following and learning from Mr. Lappet for the next few years.

Also: feel free to use the Bleak Shore as the Convocation-equivalent of the Path of Black Leaves.

Pretty much every single character in the Rapture Logs, except Jordan and the random monsters I made up, can be used. Like the individual members of the SLCEMs, or random people I describe, or even Donnie! The Rapture Logs take place in an alternate history, after all.

And people lost in the Empty City can use, like.. Nathan and Sam from Jordan Eats. But no matter what happens, Weathered Crashes can never be used. For complicated reasons.

And since the ending to Moonlit Whispers is ambiguous, I guess Garth can randomly show up as some insane guy in an asylum, or as some sort of proxy of The Rake, if one were to ever experiment with that concept. Garth's future in the ending was supposed to be left open, with a distinct possibility of becoming a Rake proxy.

It's not really an in-canon Fear blog, but if anyone wants to use/mention Smiley, that's fine by me. Also, Jeanette wanders around a lot, even more than the blog itself mentions, so I'm pretty open to her cameo-ing.

Question: What, exactly, is The Smiling man? Is it related to The Fears?

There are bridges over rivers. There are moments of collapse.
There are drivers with their feet on the glass.
You can kick but you can’t get out.
There is history in the Rooms of the House.

Oh Christ, I'm not even sure anymore. The Jeanette-verse started without knowledge of the Fear Mythos. The base idea was people trying to make their own "Slender Man" and they succeed....or, at least, something uses their idea to make itself its own body. It's a bit more complicated than that (Or Is It??? Yes.), but that's basically it.

So if Mr. Smiles is in the same world as the other Fears, then yeah, I guess it is a Fear, or maybe a "cousin" of the Fears. If the Smiling Man is primarily related to any specific human fear (which I know that has fallen into disfavor lately), it would be fears of sexuality and stalkers, stuff like that.

Hmmm....sounds nice! ^__^

I might have Smiley cameo one time in Still Remains Within.....

Anyways, nice job on making Smiley creepy! Really scary!

Don't worry about not having a specific fear for the Smiling Man. When the first Fearblogs started, we were basically just using new monsters within the Slender Man Mythos. We didn't fall into the whole "Fears" thing until sometime later. Having them be the "Fear of" stuff is just for classification purposes, but it's not really a requirement (I think). I actually think it's interesting not knowing what it is the Fear of.

Does anyone have a character they particularly want to kill off, or don't mind if they are? I kinda need to know. >>

The Topography Genera Center is open-source, add to it how you want, just don't change what we've already added without asking us.

And remember, every member has a codename. The codenames at East have to be prog; can't speak for any other branch.

Tomorrow, I'll update The Archive with a post in which Inquisitor Nu announces that he's going to leave to look for Neomaria, as such, there will be two new Open Source Characters:

Neomaria: A young woman who looks to be about twenty years old. She is extremely pale, with dark eyes and dark brown hair, which is wild and unkempt. She wears a plain white robe that has been cut open around the region of her gut, and nothing else. She tends to wander around aimlessly, lost and confused and above all, scared. She rarely knows where she is or how she got there, and she doesn't understand anything about the world around her or how it works, as she was raised in seclusion within the Archive.

The Nightlanders, for whatever reason, are fiercely protective of her, and will ruthlessly attack anyone whom they believe will do her harm. And there are always Nightlanders near her. They ride along in her shadow.

Ghost: A young man who seems to be in his mid-twenties. He is of African descent and speaks as if from London. He dresses casually and keeps his head shaved. He was formerly designated Inquisitor Nu, but was granted leave of the Archive in order to find Neomaria. He often shows up to investigate places where she has been sighted, and singlemindedly pursues her in the hopes of reuniting with the girl he loves.
