I have an idea on how you could have the scars open with traditional effects. I'll share it after I've thought it out a bit more.

Cool, thanks~

Cool, thanks~

Welcome. It involves liquid latex, a bit of wire, and some very clever camera work. Again, after some more planning, I'll give you some more detail.

Oh, well then. i was just going to get Photoshop for videos, get a few pictures of the inside of my mouth with the teeth, and video-shop it to look like its opening. It would take time, but I'd also add some video distortion when its happening, 'cause its beyond comprehension for our technology or something.

But I'm still interested in hearing yer idea!~

EDIT:
Also, I don't plan on having him wear his straight jacket every time he appears (though he will in a lot of them). This is mostly due to the discussion in his thread about him being more of an unknown killer who could be anyone.
In these appearances, he'll wear a scarf to hide his scars.
As I've said, Gwynplain from L'Homme Qui Rit (2012)" is a major disign inspiration.

Noones commented in ages, so I can totally post this:

(IMG:http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140518140218/thefearmythos/images/e/e6/MrSmilesEdited.jpg)

Here is a test photo for how he'll look with video editing. I found a cheep video-Photoshop program, that's pretty good, so I think I'll get that.

So, anyways, black sclera contact lenses are too expensive (and hazardous), so I'll juts wear black greasepaint around the eyes, and blur it on camera like so. I'll also widen the smile with blur like so.

So yeah. Mr.Smiles. The eyes are creeping me out a little.

That eye trick would also work for the Blind Man I'd think. Any clue if it's possible to make it look that good on video or if it's just stills that you can get that quality on?

Well, from what I know, the program works by editing each individual frame. So, its just like editing a series of stills, but it saves as a video.

So I assume that it'd work just as well.

As for the blind man, I'd probably do something like this:
(IMG:http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140518234052/the-rp-fear/images/3/37/The_Blind_Man.PNG)

Yes, that was made over Slade Wilson, but it gets the point across.

Again, time difference.

Basically, I may or may not give him a straight jacket, for time reason. He'll probably look more like he does in Panopticon: The Fear Mythos RPG. The hoodie and tee-shirt look. Along with the glasgow smile and the distorted eyes.

EDIT:
Alright, so it turns out, the way the program works isn't like it advertises. Its not a "photoshop for videos" as I said it would be. Translation: While I can still do the cool blur effect (probably), I won't be able to do it in the short time span between filming and uploading each entry.

So, I need ideas for smiley's eyes. As I've already said, black costume contacts are out due to them being way too expensive, and how short they last.

So, any ideas?

Yeah, I'm still working on it. I mean, I've got a pretty good idea of how I want to portray him/it, but I'd actually love to hear your ideas!

So, shoot~

For just plain black eyes, you could have the actor keep his eyes shut, and put black makeup over the lids. Then, it's just a matter of lighting to make it look like eyes. I'm not sure how well that would work for shots that are really close up, but from a short distance, it could probably work pretty well.

Now, for a wide smile, I would suggest makeup from the sides of the mouth to mid-cheek or so, with something holding the actors mouth into a wide grin, so the makeup looks like an extension of that (you would need to be very careful not to hurt the actor, obviously, so that might be a bit risky).

Well, I'm the actor playing smiley, so I can put myself in as much danger as I want XD. For the smile, I'm just using rigid collodion for a glasgow smile.

I just have issues with the eyes. Sclera contact lenses are too risky and expensive (mostly expensive. $200 for one lense! ONE!). And the video editing would look too fake for a vlog.

SO any ideas for the eyes?

Actually, that is what I plan on doing. I'll also have him wear a black hoodie and black baseball cap,to hide his eyes even more. Also, since he's pretty much only in shots from a distance, it'd work pretty well. And for the close up shots, as long as you don't see his real eyes, it's fine.

And if you do end up seeing his real eyes, oh well, I'm gonna try to build him up as just a regular serial killer, and only drop hints here and there that he's not human.
