Hello! Welcome to Red, a fairy tale game where you play a little girl, on her way to Grandmother's House.
Since this is the first time you have played this game, the Tutorial is now on! It is recommended that this system is on the first time you play the game.
Now, please select a character class!
Each character class has two Upgrade Paths. These paths change what bonuses your character will receive, as well as what their class will eventually become! These paths are not selected by the character but, rather, influenced by the character's behavior.
Don't worry about getting every available option! This game can be played more than once! Just because you try one path here does not mean you won't be able to try different ones later.
Bard The bard class is okay in a fight, pretty good at sneaking, and extremely charismatic. Innate Skill: Charm--It is easier to lie to people and convince them to do what you want. Bard Path One: ????(locked) Bard Path Two: ????(locked)
Ranger The ranger class is the tracker and warrior class. It excels moving through the woods, firing bows, and has the ability to converse with animals. Innate Skill: Forest Tongue--Can communicate with the beasts of the wilderness. Ranger Path One: ????(locked) Ranger Path Two: ????(locked)
Thief The thief class is excellent at sneaking and stealth, though it's not the best in a fight. Innate Skill: Like Water--The thief cannot be tracked by scent. Thief Path One: ????(locked) Thief Path Two: ????(locked)
You have selected Fall. You are protected by the AEGIS OF FALLING LEAVES.
Now it's time to move on!
You will start the game with three items.
In Red, items are sorted by two categories.
Whenever you receive an item, you decide whether you will use it as a weapon or a tool.
Once you have decided if an item is a weapon or a tool, you cannot change this in your current playthrough. In future playthroughs, you will be able to decide again. But once an item is a tool or a weapon, it is set like that forever, and it cannot be stored or used until you decide. Any item may be selected as either a weapon or a tool. Some are more useful in one role than another. Others are equally suited to either role.
Your starting inventory is: A bow, an axe, and a picnic basket.
You are a teenage girl with white-blonde hair. Everywhere you go, you wear a bright red cloak, a pair of red leather trousers, and a red tunic. You always keep a quiver of arrows at your side. You dress a bit like a boy, but you also live by yourself, so no one really minds.
Received Outift (1 of 8): Ranger Gear
Today, you bring your picnic basket to your Grandmother. She lives alone too, so you like to bring her food every once in a while.
You are standing in the only room your cabin has. Various archery tools and animal skins are strewn about the place. It's orderly to you, at least.
You have a front door and a back door. The back door is next to your cot, while your front door is next to your workbench.
The Three Paths that all lead to Grandmother's are out front.
