Question.

So Duchess is a scientist for Fossil Research now, and I was wondering some things. Maybe she gets her own personal blog like Doctor Cloud's? She'd post some things about her new job in Fossil Research and all that. Either way, I guess I should figure this stuff out.

SO SHE'S A SCIENTIST, but the only reason Blackcap requested for Mad Man Moon to promote her was because Blackcap wants to put her into an Op-Salad to get FT-LOTOPHAGI out of her and into the real world. So there's a lot of stuff to figure out.

She's a scientist, but she's only given busy work. Paper work. Like an intern or something. The higher-ups don't want things to harm her/get to FT-LOTOPHAGI, so they keep her in very safe conditions. But eventually, someone suggests they start to manipulate Duchess' dreams, so they start letting her test with very specific Fossils to see their effects on her dreams, and then they interview her about her dreams to see how things go. Sometime after this, Blackcap schedules a proper date for the Op-Salad, and then things get complicated and we'll figure that out later.

So we're gonna need a full cast of people here.

Blackcap is the higher-up who has taken Duchess on as a pet project. Or rather, he's been assigned to her. He might be a Night Owl, I don't know but I really want to figure it out.

Mad Man Moon, of course, is the higher-up who has to do all the dirty work. He fires people, he gives people promotions, and he disposes of the bodies. He might be a Night Owl.

Camilla Rhodes, of course, is the receptionist.

The Control Tower is the name for the booth where the scientists watch the test subjects.

Scientist names: Arsonist, Foam, Churchill, Barrel, Dodo.

I was thinking the medical officer for Fossil Research would either be Doctor Walls or a new doctor. Maybe that Doctor Pebble, Doctor Karn, something.

And then, of course, this is the movement where we'll start to develop the concept of runners and their entire lifestyle. The test subjects, after all, are all runners. I was thinking, whoever the doctor is, they'd refer to him as "The Guaranteed Eternal Sanctuary Man." Or a shortened form. And such!

And, of course, all this time we'd have the Doctor Cloud/Duchess dream recordings being declassified and posted on the main blog.

The question, then, is should Duchess get a blog of her own? Or should she just post on the main one? I mean, Liquid Len will get a blog of his own eventually.

I think giving Duchess her own blog would be interesting. It would mean another blog to update, but if you work out beforehand what it would be, it could work out well.

As for the plot: very interesting. I like the manipulation of dreams part a lot.

For "Guaranteed Eternal Sanctuary Man" - well, they would probably just call him "Sanctuary Man" or "The GESM." And so they would offer sanctuary to the runners and then...expose them to various Fossils? Obviously without the knowledge of the lower workers, like Cloud, who still believes everyone in Level 8 is their due to preexisting conditions.

The Guaranteed Eternal Sanctuary Man is the second movement of Genesis' "Supper's Ready," wherein two lovers find themselves in a surreal and inexplicable environment detailing the end of the world. The eponymous sanctuary man person is a metaphor for scientists who are seeking nothing but control and power.

This is why I chose the name. :D

Also, there's a chance Squeek/pullingoffmasks will be writing Duchess' parts. If this is the case, she'll get to be in our planning room. For the record. I suppose the question of whether or not Duchess gets a blog of her own would also depend on if Squeek decides to write and if she wants to write a full-fledged blog.

I just realized that the recordings where Doctor Cloud talks to Duchess about her dreams would work best if Doctor Cloud posted them.

So yeah, post this either on the main blog or on The Supernatural Anaesthetist and then with a link to it on the main blog, up to you. Open a new post and go to the HTML and paste this:

If you want to add text to the post, I'd recommend something like "I have been authorized to post these recordings here" or something. And of course, make sure to let people know in the Genera thread here. :D

I think it would work best if I posted it on the main blog, since his sideblog would be about FT-SHALOTT.

By the way, do you want to have Duchess describe one dream that takes place in the circus, like the creepypasta did? Maybe with more of a focus on the fire eater, since fire would be the Grotesque's motif?

I was considering it, and now that you reminded me there was a creepypasta, I definitely will.

Part three is here.

I honestly don't know how many of these there will be, but I'd love for there to be a lot. As well as probably with some other character interviews as we go along, and of course there will be interviews of Duchess' dreams after having Fossil interaction. They're more of character development filler, really. Which is probably the best part about keeping realism: Any post where you're not progressing the plot is a chance to develop character, and with keeping realism you'll have to make some uneventful posts eventually.

Though I do plan on having eventful posts around the time Squeek/pullingoffmasks is able to tell me if she can write for Duchess or not. If she can, that's fantastic. If she can't, I'll do it. But either way, that will decide it. And that should be this week.

So then! Squeek says she can't write Duchess' parts; she's got a job now and is busy and that's fine. But she'll provide voice acting as usual, so that's good.

So I'll make Duchess' posts myself! I'll get to work on that soon.
