Djay, how does this look?

I named the Manufactured Newborn "HOMUNCULI." I figured the project to make a new body for it would be named PROJECT TALOS.

Also, the designations of the tests would always start with "FT" which stands for "Fossil-Type." So we can add the next letter when we decide what to name each Fossil.

I like it so far.

For the record, Nathan and I are planning on doing a video showing the results of Homunculi in a human.

Specifically, it'll be a seemingly-crazy man running around town doing strange things. Some random bystander will record it on a cell phone camera, and it will wind up on the local news. Liquid Len will post it on the blog, curious because there would be one very off-hand mention of the Genera.

Basically, it's the test subject of the human experimentation, but he escaped. How does that sound?

That sounds good. I was actually going to build up to human experimentation. First start with just rabbits, then other animals (dogs and cats) and when finally it's revealed how crazy Doctor Cloud is, we get to the humans.

Over on one thousand and one nightmares, Scheherazade's brother was infected by the Newborn - specifically because Scheherazade had attacked it and broken it. So the Newborn-infected brother is following her because of random memories / because she attacked it.

Also: do you want me to post this on the main topic? Or should I put in a few more posts first?

Nathan and Kit are completely willing to record videos, and Kit really wants to record something awesome like her character dying.

They're only visiting for Christmas, though, and will leave before New Year's. So we're gonna be recording videos that won't be up for a while, but we need to figure out rough ideas for the story first, don't we? So we know what videos we can make.

I was thinking of having Topography Genera follow a multi-movement plot, like Jordan Eats before it. At the same time, I also want it to have a multi-story plot. I mean, we have three protagonists, two blogs so far, and who knows what more characters might enter the plot? Each protagonist could have a really intricate story that only grows more complex as the plot thickens.

I mean, I think it would be really cool to have Genera have eight movements, to match with Jordan Eats' five. Five and eight, after all, are the arc numbers in Dream Theater's Octavarium, and I've taken to writing with them. Eight notes represent a musical octave, five notes represent the chromatics. Five and eight represent music and its cyclical nature. And I do want Topography Genera to have a long plot with much focus on music. Cycles, I'm not too sure about.

...but yeah, basically, we should figure out at least a vague idea of where to go with the story, so Nathan, Kit, and I can record some videos for future posting.

Ooh, eight movements. That's ambitious. I generally write by the seat of my pants, but yeah, in collaborative projects, it's good to know where the story is going before embarking.

Okay, how about this: the end of the first movement is the reveal of human experimentation. This comes about because of someone recording the Newborn-infected human. Several videos find their way online, the last one being the human dying.

The human is a test subject that escaped from Doctor Cloud's lab. When Cloud hears about the videos uploaded, he declares that he doesn't care anymore and decides to upload more information about his human experimentation. This builds up to him revealing that he's trying to build a new body for the Newborn (which would be the next movement).

This is Cloud's storyarc during the first movement. You can decide what Len's and Duchess's storyarcs would be.

Oh, we could also have a mole within the Genera Center. Which is how the experiment escaped in the first place.

Depends on how long a movement generally is. Then again, movements in music aren't organized by length, but by subject matter. So alright, I guess this is a good idea of where to start! And we can always, like.. relabel it the "Overture" later if we feel like it.

So Doctor Cloud's first movement will end with the reveal of human experimentation. And if it's alright with you, I don't want Doctor Cloud to reveal that it's for the Manufactured Newborn; that's supposed to be information very few people know in the Genera. Doctor Cloud should be a scientist who's working on crazy things for the sake of science. The higher-ups would tell him bullshit reasons for why he's testing on animals and stuff ("It's for a report for PETA"), stuff that Cloud wouldn't really openly question until maybe the second movement.

I'm still talking with Jane about what Duchess will be doing, but I'm thinking about Len. I was thinking Len would be the protagonist who focuses on EAT. The climax of the first movement would be the "launch of the website," which is suddenly put on "indefinite hiatus" in official reports. Len decides to snoop around a bit more and finds the website not only down, but... something really eldritch that The Camper does. xD He'd probably post the news report video of the crazy man shortly after this or before.

The website's Camperfication would prompt Len to look into the matter further, where he'd find out about Jordan Eats. This would be in the second movement.

EDIT: And for the record, my original plan for Jordan Eats was ten movements, to coincide with the "ten stages of Camper."

Cool. Act 1/Overture then would end with Cloud's "For Science!" human experimentation / the reveal that the website was Camperized. That sounds like a pretty good start.

Yeah. In the meantime, we just need to develop our characters, convey what kind of people they are.

Len and Duchess will be posting Archive/Channel Fear-esque entries on the Fears, but if you want Doctor Cloud to post some, too, that's fine. We just need to decide on a structure for the entries. And I'm seeing if I can get Jane to whip up a doodle for Fears. Like an.. "artist's sketch" of what the Fears "are believed to look like." Of course, it's all just a ruse to make everyone who's not super-important in the Genera think that the Center hasn't already learned loads about the Fears.

ART HERE

FOSSIL-TYPE SOMETHING THING

The FTTHING appears to be a thing/manifests as a thing with things and stuff. Descriptions of appearances and how appearances vary in reports.

Reports have been filed regarding the FTHING doing shit like this and that, it is known to do this thing more in Thailand or whatever and more reports have been filed of it being a homosexual over in America.

Contact with FTTHING is not recommended.

(I want no reference of other names in these specific encyclopedic entries. Other names can come later. But you can take liberties with it, as long as you merely add to the Fears and not change pre-determined things. I recommend throwing in little details like the above "More reports in Thailand of this thing abducting cows than anywhere else" and stuff.)

How's that sound?

Sounds good. Though I would recommend putting a dash between FT and THING. So it would look like FT-HOMUNCULI instead of FTHOMUNCULI.
