Basically post a playlist of music you believe best sums up the mood, or storyline, or whatever, of your blog the best.

This playlist is formulated perfectly for the storyline in The Devil And God Are. I have it set up so it's almost as if you're following the blog along with your own ears. Hope you enjoy!

The Devil And God Are

Part 1: God.

(hidden first track)

Sowing Season

Millstone

Jesus Christ

Degausser

Limousine (MS Rebridge)

You Won't Know.

Welcome to Bangkok.

Not the Sun.

Luca

Untitled.

Part 2: Fight Off Your Demons
note: These songs are off a demo album that was leaked early in the recording process of their third album. They never made it onto the final version, and are thus unmastered, and don't sound as crisp, or nice, as the main album tracks. However, the lyrical beauty of them, and the passion save them. Especially the first, third, fifth, and eighth tracks. I replaced the seventh track with a mastered version, since they released one later on.

Untitled 1 (Good Man)

Untitled 2 (The Morissey Song)

Untitled 3 (Brothers)

Untitled 4 (Veteran)

Untitled 5 (Nobody Moves/Cleanser)

Untitled 6 (Mamas)

Fork and Knife

Untitled 8 (Yeah)

Untitled 9 (The Edge Takes Over For Vin)

Part 3: The Devil

The Archers Bows Have Broken (climax of the blog)

Handcuffs

Luca (Reprise)

Epilogue: Raging Inside Me

I just wanted to say that I have been listening to a loop of the first two minutes or so of Fossil Genera: A Feed From Cloud Mountain ever since Djay posted it as the theme for Topography Genera. It just makes me want to smile...

But as for Notes From the Condemned? I've only thought of one song for it, but an entire playlist? That's going to be interesting.... Give me some time to think on it, and I'll see what I can think of.

Baby's first blog: Wherein an angry man goes crazy

Also, an OOG Tumblr where I do a whole lot of stuff. I might talk about my blogs, the Mythos in general, or the vlog my brother is planning. Or I might blather on forever about other stuff and reblog random shit from everywhere. Whatever floats my boat, basically.

Moved this to "Fearosphere", since Off-Topic isn't actually supposed to be about the Fearblogs.

The Parallels: Soundtrack of the Foreigners
Now, The Parallels started off as being pretty much Between the Buried and Me's The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues but with a couple of different names. So these first three songs, you could essentially listen to along with the story up to a certain point. But like the band, I like to remain vague, so these little descriptions are as specific as I'll get. The two songs in the middle are just fitting pieces. The last two songs, though, are exactly what the characters were based off: The preludes to The Parallax.

"Specular Reflection" (Story opening)
"Augment of Rebirth" (L2: Newborn)
"Lunar Wilderness" (L2: Puzzles)
"Enjoy the Silence" (L1: Insanity)
"Satellite 15... The Final Frontier" (L1: Groundsteps)
"Sun of Nothing" (Earth/Sun L2, Flora's life.)
"Swim to the Moon" (Earth/Moon L1, Liek's life.)

OH GOD THE RAPTURE IS PUMPING: An Eldritch Soundtrack for an Eldritch Rapture

Discs 1-X: In Keeping Themes of Abstract Earth
The first disc of OH GOD THE RAPTURE IS PUMPING involves overtures and general themes for collections of logs. Songs tend to range greatly in sound; you'll find some electronic music here to counterpoint the rock. And metal.

"The Twilight Zone" (Unlock the door, enter this world of imagination...)
"Everything in its Right Place" (Rapture overture)
"The Glass Prison" (Act I: The Coming of the Four Rakes)
"We are the Night" (White Jester)
"The Lamia" (Rael's Exodus)
"New Millenium" (Act II: The Seven Ciphers of the Blind Man's Book)
The Cipher Battle Legstep BGM: The God Machine,
The Grand Gtheru, and The Realm King (I actually can't find the original mix that inspired The Realm King, but this is.. close)
"Broken, Beat & Scarred" (Crossing America)
"aclockworkorange" (The Fall of the Rich Babylon)
"Operation Ground and Pound" (Bones guitar duel)
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" (The Battle of Dominiere, I)
"Obfuscation" (The Battle of Dominiere, II)
"Octavarium" (The Battle of Dominiere, III)
"Domino" (The Battle of Dominiere, IV)
"Hairless Heart" (Intermission)
"Apocalypse, Please" (Act III: The Duels of the Knights of Xanadu)
(STUFF)
"Where the Wild Things are" (Act IV: The Hunt of the Beast and the Harlot)
"Black Fire Upon Us" (Finale or something)

DUE TO CHANGE, MORE DISCS COMING AS WELL.

Hell, everyone's trying to get me. First there was DJay and some Prog bands.

Then there was Cute and Brand New

Now it's you. Thankfully a fair amount of your playlist I already knew, otherwise then I'd have been given a lot.

SONGS OF SHUFFLING MADNESS
  • Locomotive Breath" - Jethro Tull. The series theme.
  • "Guild of Mute Assassins" - Clutch. Obviously important to the series.
  • "Aqualung" - Jethro Tull. Inspiration for the Blind Man's appearance, and a generally nice mood-setter.
  • "Broadsword" - Jethro Tull. Christie's theme, in my head.
  • "Mister Crowley" - Ozzy Osbourne. Mood. Can't find a good version of it online, though. :/
  • "Beastie" - Jethro Tull. Mood, theme, and story significance.
  • "Drink to the Dead" - Clutch. Mood.
More to come, of course, but this is what I've got on my mind most of the time when I write it.

LORD, WHAT CAN THE HARVEST HOPE FOR, IF NOT THE CARE OF THE REAPER MAN?
- Death, in Terry Pratchett's Reaper Man

Madverse Fearblogs
In The Shuffling Madness - Incomplete, Possible Reboot
Call The Schoolmaster - Complete
And Much Of Madness - Active
Where Murder Lies - Inactive

OH GOD THE RAPTURE IS PUMPING: An Eldritch Soundtrack for an Eldritch Rapture

Discs 5 or whatever-through-X: Phonebook Music
These discs or just one disc or whatever will give you individual character 'theme songs.' These are what I have in mind for if, say, Rapture ever got a movie or something.

"Assassin" (Theme of Jordan Dooling)
"The Outlaw Torn" (Theme of Donnie Rand)
DANNY'S SONG NOT KNOWN YET
"Stickerbrush Symphony -Dubstep-" (Theme of Fentzy)
"Seagulls over Rhinoceros Bay" (Theme of Anna)
"One Rode to Asa Bay" (Theme of Eric "Bones" Taylor)

Do note, I didn't just go around asking "HEY WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR THEME SONG TO BE," I made sure to try for songs I know people liked and that also conveyed some of the general themes of the story, and of their own character arcs. Speaking of, Fentzy's gonna get more character development. I keep forgetting to focus on her. >_>;;;

BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE SONGS BASED ON MORE EXAGGERATED BADASS VERSIONS OF THE CHARACTERS:

"Ants of the Sky" (Theme of The X)
"Trial of Tears" (Theme of The Passion)
"In the Name of God" (Theme of The Xen or whatever the fuck Danny is)
"Breaking All Illusions" (Theme of The Misericordia
"White Walls" (Theme of Forsaken)
"Desert of Song/Swim to the Moon" (Theme of The Knight)

"Forsaken" is the song Anna's "Forsaken" title refers to, by the way. But it's not her theme, by any means.

Every song here is recommended, of course. With the possible exceptions of "Ants of the Sky," "White Walls," and "Swim to the Moon," as Between the Buried and Me is... really eldritch in sound. Not for most people. But they are so for me. 83
