So, yeah. I didn't see a thread for this, so I figured it would be a cool idea. Just discuss horror movies you like and why you like them.

Does Repo!The Genetic Opera count?
Because aside from that, I don't watch horror movies. I like horror books better.
Oh, wait, I have seen The 6th Sense. But aside from those two, none.

"You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

I am the world first Moral Absurdist. I noticed that there was not a philosophical term as such, so I coined it. Moral Absurdism: The belief that the concepts of "good" and evil" do not exist, and that morality is a sham, yet deciding to embrace the absurdity of that and hold a moral system anyways. The logical conclusion of nihilism. See also: Absurdism, Existentialism.

If I'm going to be honest I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to horror films. I have watched the The Whisperer in Darkness however, I I recommend it to anyone who likes Lovecraft

Actually, I have a Repo! Related question- do you know a) where the original stage plays can be watched (2002, 2005), and B) do you know if they are ever going to release the deleted scenes from the movie on DVD or something?

I've watched the Jam, and I found that pretty scary!

I have now seen Event Horizon, and I have to say this: great, terrifying film.

Necrobumping but Event Horizon, Nightbreed, and Hellraiser are among my favourites.

I really like Clive Barker, what can I say.

Gotta say, I love Hellraiser too. One Halloween back when I was in undergrad one of my friends had several of us over for a horror movie marathon, and out of all films I saw that day, Hellraiser was the only one I really, really enjoyed.

Psychological horror, moreso than body horror heavy films... (and a lot more J and K Horror stuff than Western)

...okay, there are some major exceptions here, namely Marebito and the original Evil Dead films...

But, I ADORED Pulse/Kairo...mostly because, whilst it 'goes nowhere', the atmosphere and use of colour and yes.

I've seen most of the core western canon of non-slasher horror films, which some are better than others.

(Never watch horror films with me. I am both a crochety person when it comes to anatomy/psychology stuff and am more than willing to be very loud about meta stuff whilst watching horror films*

*I cannot at all stand the 'teh crazies are teh evilz' trope that seems to permeate most mainstream slasher and 'conventional' horror films.)

...And I ramble.

~ Pulling off Masks (complete) ~ Tea Time with the Traitor (on hiatus) ~ Mine Eyes Have Seen (active)

One day I'll actually finish up everything else, as well
